Elon Musk Promises Flying Car Prototype on Joe Rogan’s Podcast

Elon Musk Teases a Flying Car Prototype on Joe Rogan’s Show

Elon Musk has stirred excitement once again, announcing on Joe Rogan’s podcast that he aims to unveil a prototype for a flying car “before the end of the year.” This revelation came during a discussion about the long-delayed second-generation Tesla Roadster, as Musk dramatically shifted the conversation to his aspirations for a flying vehicle.

Musk referenced his friend Peter Thiel’s comments about the future’s promise of flying cars, asserting, “If Peter wants a flying car, we should be able to buy one.” While details were sparse, Musk hinted at groundbreaking technology behind this vehicle, suggesting it “looks like a car” but stopped short of confirming if it includes features like retractable wings or if it will be capable of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL).

The concept of flying cars is not new for Musk; he has been hinting at such projects since 2014. However, he is well-known for making ambitious predictions that often miss their target dates. For instance, the new Roadster, first announced in 2017, has faced numerous production delays, while the SpaceX Falcon Heavy’s inaugural launch occurred five years later than initially projected.

As attention turns to Musk’s flying car, it’s essential to remember that while a prototype might be showcased soon, significant development will still be required before it can go into mass production.
