Creative Labs is Crowdfunding a Modular Sound Blaster Audio Hub: The Re:Imagine
Creative Labs, the renowned maker of Sound Blaster audio cards, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its innovative modular audio hub named the Sound Blaster Re:Imagine. Designed to provide seamless audio routing among various devices, the Re:Imagine aims to simplify the connection process for gamers, musicians, and audio enthusiasts alike.
Key Features of Re:Imagine
The Sound Blaster Re:Imagine is reminiscent of Elgato’s Stream Deck. This universal hub allows users to easily switch audio inputs and outputs—computers, gaming consoles, and musical instruments can all be connected and transitioned with merely a button press. The modular system is enhanced by magnetic modules, including a 3-inch smart screen, a four-button pad, a rotary knob, and dual sliders, which can be arranged according to user preference on its base unit.
Powered by an octa-core ARM processor complemented by a small Neural Processing Unit (NPU), the Re:Imagine features substantial computing capabilities, boasting 8GB of RAM and 16GB of flash storage, expandable via a microSD card slot. Audio quality is achieved through a high-resolution 32-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC), with the hub supporting both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Running on Linux, it can operate in standalone mode or act as a PC-tethered audio hub.
Unique Functionalities
One of the standout features of the Re:Imagine is its AI DJ, which allows users to generate their own music. Additionally, it includes a built-in DOS emulator for retro gaming and one-tap audio recording functionalities, creating a multi-faceted audio experience. For developers, the system comes with an SDK and sample source code, facilitating the development of custom applications that can be shared within the Creative Labs community.
Crowdfunding Details
The Kickstarter campaign for the Sound Blaster Re:Imagine will continue through December, with an estimated shipping date set for July 2026.
