THE MORNING AFTER: RIVIAN SPINOFF ALSO MADE A MODULAR E-BIKE WITH A VIRTUAL DRIVETRAIN
IT’S MADE SOME ELECTRIC QUAD-BIKES TOO.
Also, the spinoff from Rivian, has introduced the TM-B e-bike—an innovative attempt at creating a versatile electric bike. Designed for commuting, trail rides, and transporting kids or cargo, its modular frame allows users to switch between bench seats and cargo racks. However, it comes in just one frame size. The standard battery offers an impressive range of up to 60 miles and features USB-C charging.
Among its standout features is the virtually defined drive system known as DreamRide. This system eliminates the mechanical connection between the pedals and rear wheel, utilizing “software-defined pedaling” that channels power to the generator and battery, rather than merely propelling the bike forward. While this technology is novel, its practical benefits remain to be seen.
The TM-B model boasts additional tech flair with a 5-inch touchscreen display and a built-in security system which locks the frame and rear wheel when the user moves away, reminiscent of systems used by Cowboy and VanMoof.
The initial offering will be the $4,500 TM-B Limited Launch Edition, capable of reaching up to 100 miles on a single charge. There’s also a TM-B Performance version launching in the first half of 2026, priced at $4,500 but featuring a different color scheme. A base TM-B model, expected to cost under $4,000 and deliver up to 60 miles of range, will roll out later in 2026.
